Max's Patrons
What makes collaboration important to you?
@florence_law (LAUFBC601)

''Collaboration is important to me because I love bouncing ideas off of people, the energy on a collaborative shoot is always fun and when you have a good creative team you can create some amazing work together. I love the team work aspect, its sociable, and relying on others to do something to a high standard requires trust in their abilities. I think once you have a solid collaborative team of people you can rely on, you can be confident in the work you are making and can then pitch to more brands knowing you can deliver!"
@Cameron_liversidge (LAUFBC601)

"Collaboration allows me to expand my own skill set and learn from peers whilst getting to reach out to new networks and audiences. Do you reckon that was professional enough man?
This year I got to collaborate with a make-up artist for the first time and it was wicked for me because it allowed me to visually display my concept in a way that I hadn't really done before so yeah it was sick! I gained some new followers from it too so it goes to show your work can be appreciated from other audiences. Networking always brings me a positive one way or another."
@harrilongstaff.film (LAUFBC601)

''It's been a struggle over the past two years as a Film maker to really get out there and collaborate commercially. I've been super reliant on myself and yes it has been a crazy learning curve, but I've missed collaborating with others, being able to collaborate again is refreshing. For me as a Film maker, casting is my form of collaboration, and being able to source my actors locally has come with great benefit, they know the area and they are the real people of Yorkshire, they've lived and breathed it man, and to me, it drives me to produce high quality work to celebrate these faces of Yorkshire through my concepts and ideas.''
@catherines_chaos_ (LAUFBC601)

''There's something really special when collaborating with fellow textile and illustration artists, people with the same interests. It makes you look at things from a different perspective and appreciate other people's talents. Collaborating with others allows you to ever expand your skills and knowledge. I think the music and art scene locally is flourishing. What I love about collaborating in general is the exchange of vision and ideas, I learn from so many different communities whether that's music or art. It's always fun because every collaboration can embrace experimentation and opportunities for the development of your craft!''
@stan.shoots (LAUFBC602)

"Collabing is important to me because I believe that I work better in a group environment, having my say in discussions and looking back at the hard work put in by a team of people fills me with satisfaction. As well as this it is a way for me to communicate with the right people in order for me to become better at photography and set up opportunities for myself in the future."
@jjvizuals (LAUFBC602)

"Collaboration is important to me as a photographer as I have the team who specialise in the areas that I am not as strong in, it's about the communication and speaking up tp elevate ideas and results in better outcomes."
@epm_photo
@epm_fashionphoto (LAUFBC602)

"What makes collaboration so important is the opportunity to engage with others and see how different people's dynamics work."
@lydiaolner (LAUFBC602)

"Collaboration means alot to me because I love being in the company of other creatives, sharing ideas and bouncing off each other. I also really enjoy from my perspective as an illustrator being able to create something for a client that demonstrates the idea or message that they were striving for but couldn't achieve on their own, and I love that I am able to provide that service for them and be a small brick in the building of their business!"
@sinkaiye (LAUFBC602)

"Collaboration is everywhere, it’s important for me because working for a modelling agency I am constantly networking and collaborating with photographers. If I was to pick out one thing, I take the most from collaboration, is that I’ve gained so many new friends honestly, building these little networks has allowed me to meet people and become friends with people who I would have probably not been friends with before, it’s a special thing."
@ollykell
@mundanearcaneofficial (LAUFBC602)

"Collaboration is very important to me because it provides a different perspective for my work. As a musician it can be strenuous to complete a track, but alongside someone else or others means the creative direction can be sought after more and the project can be of a higher quality."
@covers.crea (LAUFBC601)

"Collaboration is something that is at the heart of what graphic designers do! Every graphic designer is constantly learning on the job. We invest a lot of time in honing our skills by watching and reading what our fellow designers around the world, well in my case the mighty North! You gain mutual respect for each others creative talents, and learn from it, we’re connected through Behance, Instagram, Dribbble and various other platforms that make us a community; a community that is growing exponentially every day. Exponentially, blimey, that was a mint word"
@joe_klusiatis
@mundanearcaneofficial (LAUFBC601)

"Collaboration is something me or my band haven't really ventured into, I say this because we are still babies in the music scene, we've been together for about a year now so our main focus is just gigging local, which we love! and getting experience under our belt, but don't worry our tunes are still on the money. If I was to think of any collaborations that we've been involved in, we like to work with a lot of independent live sessions and stuff like that, that's collaborating right? But it's for sure something we've discussed and want to explore in the near future! It's tapping into new skills and sharing ideas, it's what we thrive off"

@florence_law sent over a lovely shot from her portrait series of our good friend Bails! Florence sent us this piece because it was part of a series where she wanted to show off peoples interests and talents that she's surrounded by! Sounds like patron work, and that's our bread and butter! Alex Bailey is a Music student in Leeds who wants to establish himself in the music industry, Florence sat down with Bails and asked why making music is so important to him, what gives him the passion? He responded with "music has not only been a chance to tell my own story, but more importantly those of the people we pass everyday, its great to tell our own stories but what about the people who don't get a chance too". The series was accepted into the December edition of Mob Journal Volume 21.

@cameron.liversidge sent this corker from his Instagram. In this series, he is investigating the importance of using recycled clothing through his lens. Using location photography, he mirrors the impacts of fast fashion on the environment and challenges this with the juxtaposition of slow fashion styling sourced locally. He directed the candid poses to invoke sympathy and vulnerability in hope to raise awareness of the environmental impacts of the fashion industry. We love the styling in this one Cam!

@catherines_chaos_ shows off her recent project, which was inspired by the combination of inclusivity, the current pandemic and joyful expressionism. Cath wanted people to be able to explore their identity through colours, materials and patterns and not to be constricted by gender. Expressing personality screams from this collection, Cath wanted to lift peoples spirits and show that we can still make fun and positive changes to your life through the pandemic.

@covers.crea presents us with a collaboration he did with the independent record label @unfocused_love for their latest compilation that released on the 17th December! This was Wills first work to quote him "touch the outside the world", so it was a great learning opportunity, and more importantly experience in collaboration, we love to see it!
